The cameras are an absolute doddle to setup BTW and remote access from the App on the phone 'just works'. SORT OF - there are options to have the motion detection on a schedule, but the easiest approach would be to simply switch off motion detection in the app. some way to stop it working when we are in the house, else the movement sensor will be pinging alerts every 5 mins as we wander around the house.

To record images to my NAS box - YES, you can save alarm (motion detected) pictures or video to an ftp server.

There is the ability to set up to four 'windows' in which to detect motion, like this: Using a web connection to the camera you can do a lot more stuff than with just the App. To set the motion sensing in such a way that it does not go off every time 1 of our 2 cats walks down the hallway - cautious YES. To alert my Android phone when movement is detected - YES it does send alerts in the App, but you may need to use email for when you are not on home network.
